Emu Oil Can Help With Lichen Sclerosus

| April 28, 2012 | 1 Comment More

Over the years I have seen many women with Lichen Sclerosus praise using 100% pure refined emu oil to help treat their LS. Emu oil is known to be deep penetrating due to not having any phosphorus, and having high content of oleic acid. It can deliver ingredients deeper into the skin, and thus it’s often used in creams and lotions, even though it is fairly expensive. Its beneficial properties are mostly assumed to be due to its high levels of Omega 6 and Omega 3 essential fatty acids, and oleic acid which can reduce inflammation. It will not heal LS but can be beneficial in keeping the skin moisturized and soft, and even help with keeping the affected skin thick and supple thus making it a good supplemental therapy for anyone using steroid creams that over time can thin and weaken the skin. Many people have reported that using emu oil twice daily on their skin has greatly diminished the symptoms of their LS, as well as helped keep outbreaks to a minimum. Some people say it has relieved the itching, redness, and scaling associated with psoriasis as well, while others report no noticeable difference.

There are many products out there marked as being emu oil, but it is very important to only use 100% pure refined emu oil. Avoid anything with additives.
